Your Heart

"Do not store up riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal. Instead, store up riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal. For your heart will always be where your riches are."

Matthew 6:19-21

Because it is true that we are just passing through this world, we need to loosen our grip on our earthly possessions. Jesus told us that our lives do not consist of the abundance of things we own.

If you are overly concerned about your possessions, ask God to help you learn what it means to lay up treasures in the world to come.

Hold tightly what is eternal;

hold lightly what is temporal.
