You May Make Your Plans,

But God Directs Your Actions

We may make our plans, but God has the last word.

You may think everything you do is right, but the LORD judges your motives.

Ask the LORD to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out.

Everything the LORD has made has its destiny; and the destiny of the wicked is destruction.

The LORD hates everyone who is arrogant; he will never let them escape punishment.

Be loyal and faithful, and God will forgive your sin. Have reverence for the LORD and nothing evil will happen to you.

When you please the LORD, you can make your enemies into friends.

It is better to have a little, honestly earned, than to have a large income, dishonestly gained.

You may make your plans, but God directs your actions.

Proverbs 16:1-9

As followers of Christ, we know we need to yield to Him as the LORD of our lives. We can do that without fear as we remind ourselves that He would never be reckless in the way He leads us. We need to learn to relax in Him and believe that He can handle anything He allows to come into our lives. Although we need to plan and live responsibly, we are wise to recognize God’s control. It is God’s will, not our efforts, that keeps us alive and safe. The best place to be is in His hands.

Our unknown future is safe in the hands of the all-knowing God.
