Marvel At The Splendor Of Night

He gives a command to the earth, and what he says is quickly done. He spreads snow like a blanket and scatters frost like dust. He sends hail like gravel; no one can endure the cold he sends! Then he gives a command, and the ice melts; he sends the winds, and the water flows.

Psalm 147: 15-18

Astronomers have discovered what they call "the largest structure in the observable universe." It occupies an area in the night sky about 40 times that of the full moon as seen from earth. This supercluster includes at least 11 galaxies and 18 quasars containing hundreds of billions of stars. It’s an amazing discovery made even more wondrous when we read that God "counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name," just as he does us.

When we marvel at the splendor of the night sky, we praise Him who created it. When we mourn the loss of life or love, we cling to Him who heals our broken hearts. How amazing to discover that the God of great and small through His Son showed His love for us all!

He who holds the stars in space

will not let go of His promises to us.
