His Angel Guards

God spoke, and these were his words: "I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you were slaves."

"Worship no god but me."

Exodus 20:1-3

Devotion to the LORD has its consequences. Men and women who live in faith before God can have a strong influence on their children and their children’s children. If they live a long life, they can witness the effect their faith has had on several generations. What satisfaction it brings to older people to see their posterity living for Christ!

People who follow Christ lead others in the right direction.

I will always thank the LORD; I will never stop praising him. I will praise him for what he has done; may all who are oppressed listen and be glad! Proclaim with me the LORD’s greatness; let us praise his name together! I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me; he freed me from all my fears. The oppressed look to him and are glad; they will never be disappointed. The helpless call to him, and he answers; he saves them from all their troubles. His angel guards those who have reverence for the LORD and rescues them from danger.

Find out for yourself how good the LORD is. Happy are those who find safety with him. Have reverence for the LORD, all his people; those who obey him have all they need.

Psalm 34:1-9

The good life is a gift from God to those who trust Him, and who make obeying Him their primary goal. God watches over them and hears their prayers. They may know heartbreak and affliction, but God guards and keeps them through it all. Best of all, however, is that He gives them His grace and redeems their soul through faith in Christ. That is truly the good life!

No one can know the good life without God.
