Believing is seeing what our eyes cannot see

Jesus said to him, "None of you will ever believe unless you see miracles and wonders." - John 4:48

Then the father remembered that it was at that very hour when Jesus had told him, "Your son will live." So he and all his family believed. This was the second miracle that Jesus performed after coming from Judea to Galilee. - John 4:53-54

Sooner or later we will be called upon to trust God as we endure sickness, grief, or disappointment. That is when we walk by faith and not by sight. - Our Daily Bread - March 9, 2001

Faith is not just believing that Jesus can save; it is asking him to do it.

You may believe everything the Bible says about Christ - that He died for your sins and rose from the dead. But if you refuse to trust Him and His work on the cross in your behalf - you will be just as lost as if you had openly and blatantly denied Jesus. You have to trust the destiny of your soul to Him for eternity. It is asking Jesus to save you, and then knowing that He can and will. That is what receiving Jesus Christ is all about. Trust.
