What To Give Our Children

Our Daily Bread - November 5, 1999

We as parents teach our children throughout their lives.

The real question is whether we teach them the right things.

It takes time to Atrain up a child.@

ATeach a child how he should live, and he will remember it all his life.@ Proverbs 22:6

It takes perseverance for a parent to discipline a child.)

AThe LORD corrects those he loves, as a father corrects a son of whom he is proud.@ Proverbs 3:12

It takes a real effort to teach God=s principles

ABe on your guard! Make certain that you do not forget, as long as you live, what you have seen with your own eyes. Tell your children and your grandchildren.@ - Deuteronomy 4:9

It takes wisdom to be fair.

AParents, do not treat your children in such a way as to make them angry. Instead, raise them with Christian discipline and instruction.@ Ephesians 6:4

AYou are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.@ Colossians 3:21

It takes diligence to manage a family well.

AA church helper must have only one wife, and be able to manage his children and family well.@ 1 Timothy 3:12
