You Then, My Son, Be Strong In The Grace That Is In Jesus Christ
You then, my son, be strong in the
grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard
me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will
also be qualified to teach others. Join with me in suffering, like a
good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a
soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his
commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an
athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to
the rules.
2
Timothy 1:1-5
Paul wrote Timothy, “I am reminded of your sincere
faith, which lived in your grandmother Lois and in your Mother Eunice and, I am
persuaded, now lives in you also.”
Faith isn’t inherited,
but it is shared. Timothy’s mother
and grandmother shared their faith with
him, and he believed.
When we encourage those close to us to have hope in
Jesus, we offer them a legacy of love. Oh, to share Him with those who come
after us!
When
we share our faith, we share the greatest treasure of all.
