Your
Labor Prompted By Love
Paul, Silas and Timothy,
To the church of the
Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to
you.
We always thank God for
all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our
God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and
your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
1
Thessalonians 1:1-2
We endure to help in some
way. We serve in faith and love. Our labor is borne out of love for God.
We also endure in hope.
We give up time to our aging parents, only to watch them decline. It is
difficult to watch that, and know that the best we can
do is to help them in our own small ways. We are able to
endure because of the hope that God will strengthen us each and every day.
Whether it is caring for
a relative, helping a neighbor or volunteering our time, be encouraged as we do
the work God has called us to do. Our labor can be a powerful testimony of
faith, hope, and love.
The
glory of life is to love, not to be loved; to give, not to get; to serve, not
to be served.
