May He Work In Us

 What Is Pleasing To Him

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 13:20-21

God is always at work in us.

We see Him as we read the Scripture each day.

We see Him as we do about our daily work as He helps us face each new day.

He has helped us face the challenges we deal with and gives us joy, at the same time.

God working in His followers is a wonderful mystery that the writer to the Hebrews refers to as he draws his letter to a close in what’s known as a benediction: “…and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ.” With this conclusion, the writer reinforces the essential message of his letter – that God will equip His people to follow Him and that God will work in and through them for His glory.

The gift of God working in us can take us by surprise; to someone we find difficult. Our “God of peace” spreads His love and peace in and through us. How have you seen God at work lately?

God works in and through His followers.
