“Foundation On
The Rock”
“Therefore
everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a
wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose,
and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it
had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put
them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.
The rain came down, the streams rose, and
the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Matthew
7:24-27
Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount. He told them that
what He was teaching would be the sure foundation for their lives. If they
heard His words and put them into practice, they would b able to withstand any
storms. Those who heard but didn’t obey, in contrast, would be like a house
built on sand. Later, Paul echoed this thought, writing that Christ is the
foundation, and we must build upon it with work that will endure.
When we listen to the words of Jesus and obey them, we’re
building our lives on a steady, rock-solid foundation. Our lives can be more like
a house built on a solid foundation.

are you building your life around?
