Rejoice Always

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

There was a neighborhood that lost power as many as three times a week…One day, the people thanked God for their power loss. A trash truck had hit the house, when the power was off. The house would have burned down, had the power been on.

A refuse-collection truck had hit the electricity pole in front of the house, and brought down the high tension lines, right over several houses. Had there been power in the cables people would not have lost power, but they would have lost their lives as well.

Sometimes our difficult circumstances may make it hard to thank God. We can be thankful to our God who sees in every situation an opportunity for us to trust Him – whether or not we see His purpose.

By God’s grace we can be thankful in all things.
