Let
Your Conduct Be Worthy
Of The Gospel Of
Christ
Only
let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and
see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one
spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in
any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition,
but to you of salvation, and that from God.
For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe
in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, having the same conflict which you saw
in me and now hear is in me.
Philippians 1:27-30
No
matter how they do it, as we get older, people know that we can be hit upon
more and more frequently. Do we have a retirement plan? Are we planning to move
into elderly housing? Do we have enough insurance? No matter what we have it
never seems to be enough.
Romans
14:13 tells us to: “stop passing judgment on one another.” 2 Corinthians 9:6
tells us: “Whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” Philippians 1
tells us: “Stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith
of the gospel without being frightened.”
As
we read God’s Word, we get vital reminders. Let’s take these seriously as from
the heart of the Father who knows what honors Him and is best for us.
Holiness is simply Christ in us fulfilling the will
and commands of the Father.
