“You
Are The Light Of The World”
“You are the light of the
world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a
basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the
house. Let your light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew
5:14-16
There is a place in
Norway, in a valley. From October to March no sunlight hits the town. They do
it with mirrors.
The Christian life is
similar. We have no light of our own. Jesus provides that light to us. He is
the “light of the world.” John the disciple wrote that Christ the true light “shines
in the darkness.” Jesus invites us to reflect His light into the darkness
around us.
As the apostle Paul
reminds us, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Live as children of light.”
Jesus is truly the light
of the world.
Reflect
the Son and shine for Him.
