He
Took The Children In His Arms
People were bringing
little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples
rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the
little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God
belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the
kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the
children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.
Mark
10:13-16
The heart of God reflects
kindness. We see this gentleness in Jesus when His friends tried to protect Him
from the noise and bother of small children. Instead, Jesus insisted on taking
the little ones in His arms and blessing them. In the process, He invited all
of us to trust Him like a little child.
Jesus lets us know that
all of us are safe in His presence. Whether awake or asleep, we can lean on
Him. When we’re exhausted, He provides a safe place for us to rest.
God
is a safe resting place.
