He
Causes Me To Stand On The Heights
For
who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?
It
is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
He
makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights.
He
trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
You
make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has
made me great.
You
provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.
Psalm 18:31-36
Have
you ever watched a baby learning to walk? We need to steady the child, and
eventually the child’s eyes sparkle with gratitude to us, the child is happy
and secure. But think about that same child when they want to do something dangerous,
and we won’t let them.
God,
our Father, guides our steps, holds our hand, and keeps us on the right path.
King
David knew all about the need for God’s watchful care in his life. God gives us
strength and guidance when we are lost or confused.
Whether
we are new believers just learning to walk in the faith or we are further along
in our walk with God, all of us need His guiding, steadying hand.
God watches over me every step of the way.
