“Let Not The Wise Boast Of Their Wisdom”
This is what the Lord says:
“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong
boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who
boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am
the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for
in these I delight,” declares the Lord.
“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will punish all who are
circumcised only in the flesh—
Egypt, Judah, Edom, Ammon,
Moab and all who live in the wilderness in distant places. For all these
nations are really uncircumcised, and even the whole house of Israel is
uncircumcised in heart.”
Jeremiah 9:23-26
Who do you give the credit to in your life? We are not
all really smart, really strong, or really wealthy. Any size accomplishment is
not ours to take credit for. God made it happen.
If we allow praise to inflate our self-image, we’re
forgetting that every one of our gifts comes from God. It is better to give God
the glory, not only because it protects our hearts from pride but also because
He rightfully deserves it. He is God, the One who takes care of us, our whole
lives, from birth to death.
We were created to give God the glory.
