I
Was Shown Mercy
Here is a trustworthy
saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save
sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so
that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense
patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal
life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and
glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1
Timothy 1:15-17
No matter what we try
to do to bring people to Jesus, that is all we can do – try! God will do the
rest, He will bring them on in, and with His tender mercies, He will accept
them, and forgive them, and when they die – He will bring them to Him.
Sometimes we talk about
the gospel, other times we share our story, still other times we just show a
silent Christ like example, but always we pray. We know that salvation is
ultimately a work of God and not something we can do for another. God is a
gracious God, and no matter what the outcome of our prayers, He can always be
trusted.
We
plant and water, but God gives the increase.
