Understand
Fully That You Can Boast Of Us
Now this is our boast:
Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and
especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We
have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace. For we do not
write you anything you cannot read or understand. And I hope that, as you have
understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that you can boast of
us just as we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus.
2
Corinthians 1:12-14
Sometimes when sharing
the gospel, we make it more complicated than it needs to be. We can be glad
that the Bible presents the good news of salvation in clear, easily understood
language.
We are told in simple
terms that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light. We are told that no one
comes to the Father unless they come through Jesus.
The apostle Paul
followed simple language as well, telling a jailer to believe in the Lord Jesus
Christ and he would be saved.
God’s precious love
story is simple. He sent His Son to rescue us from sin and death. Wonderful news that even children can understand.
Through
faith in Christ, we receive God’s pardon and escape sin’s penalty.
