“There
Is No One Righteous”
As
it is written:
“There is no one righteous, not even one;
there
is no one who understands;
there
is no one who seeks God.
All have turned away,
they
have together become worthless;
there
is no one who does good,
not
even one.”
“Their throats are open graves;
their
tongues practice deceit.”
“The poison of vipers is on their lips.”
“Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”
“Their feet are swift to shed blood;
ruin
and misery mark their ways,
and
the way of peace they do not know.”
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
Romans 3:10-18
When
we give eulogies for our friends and family, our message should always boil
down to the fact that there is nothing we can do, to get into heaven, that comes from our
goodness. We will never ever be good enough.
But
because of our faith in Jesus Christ, we have a place in heaven. He has made
sure of that.
It
is only by grace that we can be saved through faith. And that has nothing to do
with our human efforts. That is a gift from God.
We are not saved by good works, but by God’s work.
