“Blessed
Is He Who Comes
In The Name Of The
Lord”
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed
to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,
and you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell
you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the
name of the Lord.’”
Matthew
23:37-39
Few things are as
heartbreaking as a barrier to love, Christ, the long-awaited Messiah of Israel,
experienced a barrier to His love when His chosen people rejected Him.
Our Sin is a barrier
that separates us from God. But “God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life.”
Jesus took care of the
barrier to God’s love by His sacrificial death on the cross and His
resurrection. Now, He longs for us to experience His love and accept this gift.
Through
His cross, Jesus rescues and redeems.
