A
Letter From Christ
Are we beginning to
commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of
recommendation to you or from you? You
yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You
show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not
with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on
tablets of human hearts.
2
Corinthians 3:1-3
Now the Lord is the
Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who
with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into
his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the
Spirit.
2
Corinthians 3:17-18
When going through old
family records we see the crooked teeth, the big knobby knees, the near and
far-sightedness.
Some of these are good,
some not so good. We don’t always focus on the ones which aren’t so good, we tend to focus on the good ones.
What we also see is
that we use our bad ones as an excuse for behaving badly. This may be because
it is easier to change our looks than change our character. But imagine how
much better off we’d be if we put our energy into character development.
The
Spirit develops in us the clear image of Christ.
