“I
Have Engraved You On
The
Palms Of My Hands”
Shout for joy, you
heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the Lord
comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
But Zion said, “The
Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.”
“Can a mother forget
the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though
she may forget, I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before
me.
Isaiah
49:13-16
There are experiences
in our lives when we think we have been abandoned. It’s an overwhelming feeling
that no one cares anything about us. It’s a real and excruciatingly painful
feeling. But even though people may abandon us God’s love and presence is
assured.
The Lord will never
falter in His commitment to His children. Even if we have been abandoned by
others, we can find confidence in His promise that nothing will ever separate us
from being loved by our Lord Jesus.
Confidence
in God’s presence is our comfort.
