His
Great Power And Mighty Strength
“To
whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. Lift up your
eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who
brings out the starry host one by one
and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power
and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Why
do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the
Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The
Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not
grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength
to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and
weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will
renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and
not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:25-31
Have
you ever been in a meeting where you raised a point, and everyone just ignored
you? Have you ever tried to make your point a second time, and had the same
thing happen again?
The
people of God felt that way as a nation. Only they believed it was God Himself
who didn’t see or understand their daily struggle to survive! The southern
kingdom had been carried away captive into Babylon, and the exiled nation
complained.
While
Isaiah agreed that compared to God, nations are just a drop of water in a
bucket, they are counted the same way. Understand, God
gives power to the weak and strength to those who need it. If they waited on
the Lord, their strength would be renewed. The Bible tells us they would mount
up with wings like eagles, and they would run and not be weary.
When
you are feeling invisible or disregarded, remember that God does see you and He
cares. Wait on Him, and He’ll give you renewed strength.
Even when we don’t sense God’s presence, His loving
care is all around us.
