Love

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

There is the possibility that we can help people too much. Check your heart with your acts of service. Our hearts and acts of service should be truly symbolic of God’s unconditional love.

In prayer ask God to show any way we are hurting or hindering others.

Our efforts to help others, especially those we love the most, will never be completely free of anxiety. But we can, by God’s grace, begin to love freely with no strings attached, as God Himself loves.

Lord, help us to love with pure motives and for the good of others. Help us to love unconditionally, expecting nothing in return.

In our desire to help, let’s love with pure motives.
