He Stayed And Worked With Them

After this, Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all Jews to leave Rome. Paul went to see them, and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them. Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.

Acts 18:1-4

Are you hospitable? Would you open the door to your home to someone else? When you open your door you send a message that someone matters to you, and to God. Your guest will understand they are worth the effort.

This is what the apostle Paul must have heard and felt when Aguila and Priscilla opened the door of their home to him.

As followers of Christ, we are called to be hospitable, to help others through life’s storms. We can be used by the Lord because He has provided for us.

Christian hospitality is an open heart and an open home.
