“My Place Of Shelter”

Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught because of what my enemy is saying, because of the threats of the wicked; for they bring down suffering on me and assail me in their anger.

My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen on me. Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me. I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. I would flee far away and stay in the desert; I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.”

Psalm 55:1-8

Have you ever noticed that your computer slows down over time? Programs and data get fragmented. And what do we do about that? We de-fragment our hard drives. Guess what? Life is like that too.

We get caught up in so many things we feel fragmented. Our minds won’t stop but our bodies won’t start.

King David went through similar times, and he learned that the answer was prayer, just as it is today. When we cast our cares to the Lord, He will show us what we need to do and what only He can do.

We need prayer the most when we have the least time to pray.
