Hope Does Not Put Us To Shame

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Romans 5:1-5

We are all tested in different ways. Some people end up as prisoners of war, others because of an infirmity become prisoners of their own bodies. No matter, it is faith that will get you through. Your faith can be a shining witness to others. Even in the midst of suffering, there is hope.

Biblical hope is a strong and confident expectation that God promised us. He will accomplish many things in our lives, which we never expected. Tribulation is often the catalyst that produces perseverance, character, and finally, hope.

We all have our battlefields where we learn things about ourselves, our faith, and our Lord. We learn that faith will thrive when there is no hope except that in God.

Christ, the Rock, is our sure hope.
