Have Mercy On Us

I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy.

Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt.  We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud.

Psalm 123:1-4

Do you get upset with the contempt others show you as a Christian? It could be neighbors, family or those we work with.

We can fend off the jeers of the proud by becoming proud of our faith, or we can view their attempt to humiliate us as a badge of honor.

We must not be like the mockers by mocking them in turn, but we should bless those who persecute us.

At all times, we are to look to our Lord. He alone has the answers.

When others’ treatment of you gets you down, look up to Jesus.
