Humility Comes Before Honor
One
who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys.
The
name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
The
wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it an unscalable wall.
Before
his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.
Proverbs 18:9-12
Where
is your “safe room?”
There
are two types of security, one is real and one is imagined. Some of us think
money provides us with security. That is the security that is only imagined.
Others realize the only true form of security comes in knowing God.
Solomon
told his readers that money might give a sense of security, but it would be
false security and he said it could lead to laziness, pride, and destruction.
We
all need to depend daily on the Lord and find a
