I Will Meditate On
Your Wondrous Works
My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to your word. When
I told of my ways, you answered me; teach me your statutes. Make me understand
the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wondrous works. My soul
melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. Put false ways far
from me; and graciously teach me your law. I have chosen the way of
faithfulness; I set your ordinances before me. I cling to your decrees, O LORD;
let me not be put to shame. I run the way of your commandments, for you enlarge
my understanding.
Psalm 119:25-32
We can all be optimistic about life, but if we are realistic we
know there are dark and dusty places that can be lonely.
We may know teenagers who make the dreaded trip home each day
because of their unhappy and unwholesome families.
We may know people who cannot escape the curtain of depression.
We may know people who endure the sudden death of a child.
We may have seen abject poverty in the world, and not know what to
do about it.
No matter what you know or what you have seen, don’t despair. Hope
is available in Jesus. Know that guidance comes from the Spirit. Know that
knowledge and power are found in God’s Word. Are life’s demands overwhelming
you? If so, you can find hope, guidance, and knowledge to help. It’s in God’s
Word.
A well-read Bible makes a well-fed soul.
