Be Strong In The Grace

That Is In Christ Jesus

You then, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus; and what you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teacher others as well. Share in suffering like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving in the army gets entangled in everyday affairs; the soldier’s aim is to please the enlisting officer.

2 Timothy 2:1-4

When you go into the service you put your life on hold until you get out. And you hope you get out alive. You pray for a piece of land, a family, peace and quiet, and a job. Many of us also make a promise to God that we will serve Him. In Paul’s time Christians endured hardship, and we are to do the same today.

You will be given the grace you need.

In heaven, we will no longer experience such difficulties but we will enjoy everlasting peace with the Savior. For now, we are to persevere by faith.

Lord, the trials we face at times seem too much to bear. We are grateful, though, for the reminders in Your Word that You will stay by our side and help us endure till You call us Home.

Victory is sure for those who endure.
