Let Those Be Put To Shame And
Confusion Who Seek My Life
Be pleased, O God, to
deliver me. O LORD, make haste to help me! Let those be put to shame and
confusion who seek my life. Let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
who desire to hurt me. Let those who say, “Aha, Aha!” turn back because of
their shame.
Let all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation say evermore, “God
is great!” But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my
deliverer; O LORD, do not delay!
Psalm
70:1-5
In the Bible we see that
God consistently used people who were far less than perfect. The world has not
changed. We are still much less than perfect and God uses us today. We each
have our role and our place.
God is glorified by
showing Himself strong through our weaknesses. It shows us that He desires to
work through our lives not because we are perfect but because He is. And since
He uses weak and foolish things, it means you and I are prime candidates for
His work.
The LORD isn’t looking for
superheroes. He uses those of us who are flawed and frail, so that He can show
His strength and grace. He wants those with a willing and available heart.
In
God’s service, our greatest ability is our availability.
