Human Wrath
Serves Only To Praise You
In Judah
God is known, his name is great in Israel. His abode
has been established in
Glorious
are you, more majestic than the everlasting mountains. The stouthearted were
stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; none of the troops was able to
lift a hand. At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned.
But you
indeed are awesome! Who can stand before you when once your anger is roused?
From the heavens you uttered judgment; the earth feared and was still when God
rose up to establish judgment, to save all the oppressed of the earth. Selah.
Human
wrath serves only to praise you, when you bind the last bit of your wrath
around you. Make vows to the LORD your God, and perform them; let all who are around him bring gifts to the one who is awesome,
who cuts off the spirit of princes, who inspires fear in the kings of the earth.
Psalm 76:1-12
God
takes the worst evil that men and woman can do to us and turns it into good.
God has
not promised that our life will be easy. He has promised to sustain us in our
struggles and He will uphold us with His mighty arm. If we trust Him, He will
empower each of us so we can make our way bravely through extraordinary
difficulty with faith, hope, and love. The trials God permits in our lives will
lead to His praise and glory, if only we abide in Him.
Furthermore,
there will be a restraint and a respite. We will only be tested to the edge of
our endurance, and never past that. God will stop our tribulations so we never
ever are tested beyond what we can handle. That is His sure promise. When the
lesson has been learned, when the revelation of God’s glory is complete and our
soul has been tested and proven – then God will raise His hand and save us.
In every desert of trial,
God provides an oasis of comfort.
