“Hear His Voice”
Therefore, as the Holy
Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the
rebellion, as on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your ancestors put
me to the test, though they had seen my works for forty years. Therefore I was
angry with that generation, and I said, ‘They always go astray in their hearts,
and they have not known my ways.’ As in my anger I swore, ‘They will not enter
my rest.’” Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have an evil, unbelieving
hear that turns away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as
long as it is called, “today,” so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness
of sin. For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first
confidence firm to the end. As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
Hebrews
3:7-15
One never knows when today
will be your last day on earth. Life changes with small aches in the back that are much more serious than we ever thought. Heart
attacks, accidents, and cancer can all hit us in one fell swoop. The future is
uncertain. Seize the day, and make it today. Make the most of the day. Enjoy
it. Praise the Lord.
None of us have received
guarantees to anything. We take life one day at a time. Today may be your last
and final opportunity to accept the gift of salvation from God,
or if you know Christ already, to share His love with a friend or loved one.
Seize
the opportunities that God gives you today.
Plan
as though you will be living for a century;
live
as though you’ll be leaving today.
