“Faith”

And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. A windstorm arose on the sea, so great that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a dead calm. They were amazed, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?”

Matthew 8:23-27

Fear and Risk are easily confused. As Jesus and His disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee, a storm came up and waves swept over their boat. Jesus was asleep. They woke Him up. He asked His disciples what they were afraid of? They did not believe that He would take care of them. They had to be convinced. He then commanded the winds and sea, and they trusted. They learned something about Jesus that day, and you can learn the same lesson. Jesus can be trusted, day in and day out, for the rest of your life.

Like the disciples, the more we learn about Jesus, the more we trust Him. Our greatest risk is failing to depend on Him when life seems out of control.

Where are you in your own life? Do you totally trust Jesus to take care of your needs?

Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will soon lose sight of your fears.
