In The Inheritance Of The Saints

For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God. May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Colossians 1:9-14

If you have ever moved you will remember the little cards you fill out at the post office, the change of address forms. In many ways when we come to know Jesus Christ, we also change our addresses permanently. Those of us in Christ all have the same address – heaven on earth, or heaven in eternity. Why wait? You can live in heaven on earth just by accepting Jesus. By the grace of God we live in that new neighborhood in a new community. We have been rescued from the kingdom of darkness and have been brought into the kingdom of Jesus.

In Philippians Paul declared that all believers are citizens of heaven and should live worthy of their new address. He encouraged the Christians in Colosse to walk in wisdom toward those who were outside the faith so that people could see and hear about the changes.

If you have changed your address, tell someone about what Jesus has done for you.

When Jesus comes into a life, He changes everything.
