Now to one who works, wages are not
reckoned as a gift but as something due. But to one who without works trusts
him who justifies the ungodly, such faith is reckoned as righteousness. So also
David speaks of the blessedness of those to whom God reckons righteousness
apart from works: “Blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose
sins are covered; blessed is the one against whom the Lord will not reckon
sin.”
We know salvation comes from our faith
in Jesus, our Savior, and not from works. Neither money or
good deeds get us into heaven.
Bottom line – we cannot save
ourselves. We can be saved only by God’s Son, Jesus, who lived a sinless life,
died as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and rose from the grave.
Jesus gave
Himself
to give us
salvation.
