The Spirit Helps Us In Our Weakness

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. And God, who searches the heart, knows what is in the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:26-28

We all should be stretched beyond our comfort zones in life. No matter what we do, or are, there is always room for stretching. Sometimes the way to stretch spiritually is to share our faith with someone we don’t know very well, or to give an offering that is far beyond what you usually give, or to confront someone about a situation.

While we stretch our spiritual muscles, we will probably feel discomfort. We are not used to doing spiritual things outside our comfort zones. Just know that God’s grace will be sufficient for us, no matter what. Our sufficiency is found in Him.

When you boldly step out in faith and obedience to God, you may be surprised at how a “good stretch” can strengthen your spiritual life.

Our faith is stretched

by exchanging our weakness for God’s strength.
