Able To See

As he walked along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God’s works might be revealed in him. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had said this, he spat on the ground and made mud with saliva and spread the mud on the man’s eyes, saying to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent.) Then he went and washed and came back able to see.

John 9:1-7

Many of us struggle with our thoughts about God. Maybe we grew up in a church that portrayed God as an angry God, or maybe He was portrayed as a loving God. What each of us has to confront in our own lives, is how we will come to trust Him, and how we view Him. We know that the Son of God, Jesus, was compassionate to all. We have to come to a realization that Jesus died for our sins.

Do not think you can pull one over on God? He knows everything about you, and He knows if you truly believe or if it is just an act. The real proof is whether we can see God and Jesus and know that they are divine, and know that the Spirit is in all of us, as a helper. Then, as the scripture says, we will be “able to see.”

The cross of Jesus is the supreme evidence of the love of God.
