The Shepherds Returned,

Glorifying And Praising God

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.” So they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about this child; and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

Luke 2:15-20

Imagine Mary on the day of the birth of Jesus. Stars shining from heaven, wise men, shepherds, all for her baby in a manger. She had already been visited by an angel, as had been Joseph. We are told that she pondered all the gifts and things that were said about her Son. Wonder and amazement come to mind. And she probably pondered Jesus her whole life, up to the time of His crucifixion and then His resurrection, all from a tiny baby born over 2000 years ago.

As we celebrate Christmas,

may we be filled with wonder at His love and His coming!

A wonder-filled life is yours when you know

the Christ of Christmas.
