The Most High
How you are fallen from heaven, O Day
Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations
low! You said it in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my
throne above the stars of God; I will sit on the mount of assembly, on the
heights of Zaphon; I will ascend to the tops of the
clouds, I will make myself like the Most High.” But you are brought down to Sheol, to the depths of the Pit.
Long ago in heavenly places, an angel
fell into spiritual piracy. Lucifer was a cherub who stood in the glory of God.
But his own self-love replaced love for his Creator. Desiring to be like the
Most High, he led a rebellion and was cast out of heaven. Today the devil and
his minions are doing whatever they can to commandeer the lives of human
beings.
Even so, we do not need to be afraid.
Satan is a dangerous enemy, but Jesus sealed his ultimate fate when He rose
from the dead. And He has given us everything we need to withstand the attacks
from the devil.
He who is in
you is greater than he who is in the world.
