The LORD Is Your Keeper

I lift up my eyes to the hills – from where will my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore.

Psalm 121:1-8

God is always awake, and regardless of where we are in life, He will take care of us. As Christians, we may confidently commit both the night and the day to our ever-faithful God. He is fully aware of our fears in the dark as well as our frustrations in the light. We can be assured of His constant care. His loving eye and protecting hand are always upon us. Maybe you have faced illness or the illness of someone close to you. The shadows of the night make your anxiety greater. Doubts arise and fears flood your soul. Your rest is robbed.

Trust the heavenly Father, and with the psalmist you will be able to lay down and trust in the Lord. God is always awake.

If you have trouble getting to sleep, try resting in the Lord.
