“Out Of
I Have Called
My Son”
On
entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt
down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him
gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not
to return to Herod, they left for their own country by another road.
Now
after they had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and
said, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain

A
little boy was somewhat perplexed by all the exchanging of presents on
Christmas morning, for he had been taught in Sunday school that it was the
birthday of the Savior. Finally, after a long period of silence, he asked his
mother when they were going to give Jesus His present, because it was Jesus’
birthday.
Most
of us give gifts to everyone but the One whose birthday we celebrate. We should
ask ourselves what we are going to give our Lord Jesus this Christmas. Give him
yourself. If you have never known Him well enough to
trust Him as your Savior, this would be a good time to do that. What He desires
the most from us is a believing heart. Why not put your faith in Jesus’
sacrificial death on the cross, so you can be saved from your sins?
If by
faith you already know Christ as your Savior, then the most wonderful thing you
can do this Christmas is to present to God the one gift He most desires to
receive from you – yourself.
Our
bodies are to be used for God’s purposes. Because we have accepted the gift of
salvation from Him, it is only reasonable that we should present ourselves to
the Father. When we give ourselves, we give the one Christmas present that
truly fits the occasion!
Give your all to Christ; He gave His all for you.
