Let Your Steadfast Love

 Come To Me, O LORD

Let your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise. Then I shall have an answer for those who taunt me, for I trust in your word. Do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for my hope is in your ordinance. I will keep your law continually, forever and ever. I shall walk at liberty, for I have sought your precepts. I will also speak of your decrees before kings, and shall not be put to shame; I find my delight in your commandments, because I love them. I revere your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes.

Psalm 119:41-48

We may be challenged by God at any point in our lives. We may pull on that experience over the years and use that one example of God working through our lives. If we just say “Thank You” and keep on looking for experiences to build a relationship with God, we may have more than one example to share.

There is a saying in the investment community, “Past successes are no indicators of future performance.” There is also another way to put that: past attainments are not a measure of present or future spiritual maturity. We all need to keep our commitment fresh every day. As Christians, we cannot rest on past victories. We must give the LORD our full devotion now.

Use the past as a springboard, not as a pillow.
