“Do Good To Those Who Hate You”

“But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Luke 5:27-32

Gandhi was not a Christian, but he admired Jesus Christ. At some point he was asked why he was not a Christian. He reportedly said that when he met a Christian who was a follower of Christ, he might consider it.

Christians are supposed to be followers of Christ. Christ does not exist to follow us. We sometimes come to believe that Christ exists to follow us. Jesus did not come to make our lives here on earth easier. He came to provide us with a way to heaven, through Him.

It is not all about us, it is about Him.

We constantly pray for the wrong things in life. We pray for wealth, family, and health, when we should really pray for grace when we face the pitfalls of life, and to then properly say “thank you” for the grace we receive.

To lead others to Jesus,

you must first learn to follow Him.
