God Is The Strength Of My Heart

Nevertheless I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me with honor. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Indeed, those who are far from you will perish; you put an end to those who are false to you. But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, to tell of all your works.

Psalm 73:23-28

Have you ever thought of the things you lean on as you grow up and grow older. As a kid you had training wheels on your first bicycle. If you ski you may have trekking sticks. Someday you may trade those for a wheelchair or a walker. The point is, we always need something or someone to lean on.

The patriarch Jacob was once strong, and was humbled and utterly dependent on God. As we grow older, we learn more to lean more on God and His faithfulness. God will always hold our hand. He guides us with His counsel, and ultimately He will receive us in heaven.

Learning of our weakness

teaches us to lean on God’s strength.
