What Is Your Life?

Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a town and spend a year there, doing business and making money." Yet you do not even know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wishes, we will live and do this or that." As it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, commits sin.

James 4:13-17

Not a day passes without a reminder that our earthly life can end at any moment. All we need to do is read the obituary column. We can be here today and in heaven tomorrow.

The only certainty we have is that at any moment we may be thrust into eternity. There is a certain amount of comfort in knowing that at any point we can be with our Savior, maybe not on our terms and time, but certainly in His time. Christ is the anchor of our soul. He paid the penalty for our sins on the cross. If we admit our guilt before God, we will receive forgiveness and eternal life by trusting Him. He has promised to remain with us, even in the hour of death.

It is never too late to accept Christ,

but at any moment it could be too late.
