Salvation Has Come
He entered Jericho and was passing
through it. A man was there named Zacchaeus; he was
trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because
he was short in stature. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see
him, because he was going to pass that way. When Jesus came to the place, he
looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down;
for I must stay at your house today. So he hurried down and was happy to
welcome him. All who saw it began to grumble and said, “He has done to be the
guest of one who is a sinner.” Zaccaeus stood there
and said to the Lord, “Look, half of my possession, Lord, I will give to the
poor; and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as
much.” Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because
he too is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek
out and to save the lost.”
Luke 19:1-10
Are you the type of Christian who only
works with other Christians, eats with them, or talks with them? There is a
much larger world out there, and they are not all Christians. Our reason for
being here on earth is to point to God and praise Him, and at the same time to
tell people that when we die we can be with Him, if we believe that Jesus is
our Savior and that He died for our sins.
Don’t avoid working or dealing with
non-believers. Many un-believers look at Christians and think that we believe
we are better than they are. Jesus won the respect of people because he cared
for them and about them. We can do no less.
Jesus has equipped us with the Holy
Spirit and assured us that He will be with us so we can follow His example.
Jesus leaves us
in the world
to be a witness to
the world.
