My Ways

 In Christ Jesus

I am not writing this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For though you might have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers. Indeed, in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. I appeal to you, then, be imitators of me. For this reason I sent you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, to remind you of my ways in Christ Jesus, as I teach them everywhere in every church.

1 Corinthians 4:14-17

Paul wanted people to act like him. He wanted them to look at him as a role model for the Christian life. For us, we need role models as well. For some of us that would be our parents our grandparents. In many cases, just by watching them, we can live more like Christ. The real challenge is when they are on their death beds, and they look us squarely in the eyes. Did we watch them or not? It can be a turning point. Strive to please Jesus. Watch and you can learn to live. At some point in our lives, maybe we can serve as good role models for others.

Is somebody watching you? Are there younger Christians who need to see that it is possible to live for Jesus every day and in every way? Challenge them to watch. Then show them the way.

There is no better sermon than a good example.
