Light

 Given To One

 In Misery

“Why is light given to one in misery, and life to the bitter in soul, who long for death, but it does not come, and dig for it more than for hidden treasures; who rejoice exceedingly and are glad when they find the grave? Why is light given to one who cannot see the way, whom God has fenced in? For my sighting comes like my bread, and my groanings are poured out like water. Truly the thing that I fear comes upon me, and what I dread befalls me. I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest; but trouble comes.”

Job 3:20-26

Job went as far as to wish he had never been born. He found ways to help others and he lived through his grief. His experience has become a source of endless comfort to suffering souls.

Maybe you are at that point when you have considered not going on. Being a child of God intensifies your desperation, because you wonder how a believer could feel so alone and forsaken. Do not give up. Coming to the end of yourself emotionally could be the most painful experience you have ever encountered. But take courage. Cling to the Lord in faith and start all over. God is with you from the beginning to the end.

In Christ,

the hopeless find hope.
